Consumer Quality

Navan was bred as a high dry matter Maris Piper replacement. Navan possesses excellent all round cooking quality, but is particularly suitable for the chip shop / french fry market thanks to its superb fry colour and large tubers.

Agronomic Features

Navan has good resistance to PVY, blackleg, PCN Ro1 and mild mosaic virus resulting in fewer outgrades than Maris Piper. Navan produces a vigorous haulm giving excellent ground cover. In addition to performing well in the UK, Navan has shown suitability for Eastern Mediterranean climates - demonstrating heat tolerance in particular.
